The January List (because what even is December?)

I’ll be honest, as someone who doesn’t leave the house much it is not uncommon for me to lose track of time. The last few months have hit different though. I have been glued to my laser making many, many lovely things for you all and I’m so grateful for every single second of it! One by product of this beautiful, manic stream of work has become known as: “The January List”.

The list started as a way of tempering my creative side whilst I worked on my orders. I would add my new product ideas and rest easy in the knowledge that I could bring those ideas to life post Christmas when my order numbers calmed down.

Needless to say, as my order numbers bloomed beyond my expectations, so did the list itself. It quickly devolved from a fun, inspirational list to a very practical one that included finance records and inventory sorting. My last entry was “reply to freinds’ wotsapp messages”. It was at this stage that I decided that it was better suited being to being an ethereal catch-all term rather than an actual tangible record of the death of my (already very quiet) social life.

For the purposes of your amusement though, and because I hold no shame over my lack of social life, I’ll share a few of the items with you now to satiate your curiosity:

  • Address the big ink stain. Accept the little ones.

  • Try to rescue house plants Buy new house plants.

  • Draw red pandas

+ Raccoons, sloths, dinosaurs and lots more. No requests for any insects (yet).

  • Make hands look less traumatised.

  • Aim to leave the house occasionally/once.

  • Buy in light fittings, vinyl, leather and foil for prototyping.

  • Address high levels of atmospheric sawdust.

There are many other things that made it onto the list. I can’t wait to share the more exciting ones with you in the new year as they come into fruition. For now though, as I recuperate (slightly) and take in the last few days of 2022, I am full of gratitude and excitement (and at this point quite a lot of chocolate as well).

I can’t thank everyone enough for their support. I hope that anyone opening a Greenwood Gifted creation this festive season is delighted with their gift! I look forward to continuing to spread the smiles and joy in 2023. Whatever, whenever and however you are celebrating throughout the holidays, I wish each and every one of you a very merry time and the happiest of new years!
